We realize the physical health and well-being of our children are compromised by a
combination of factors that include, but are not limited to, larger food portion sizes combined with a lack of physical exercise, increased consumption of sugar sweetened drinks and
limited outdoor activity. In 2006, the Center for Disease Control reports confirms that children and adolescents are the most vulnerable age group susceptible to obesity-related illnesses.

Skateboarding is a sweet ride to fitness. Without compromising the authenticity of skateboard culture, we aim to achieve the following goals:

· Showcase local skateboarding talent

 · Promote physical activity amongst children & adolescents– the most vulnerable age group susceptible to obesity-related illnesses  (source:http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/06facts/obesity03_04.htm)

 · Increase skateboard safety awareness

 · Help shape a positive image of the sport by providing a safe environment for people of all ages

 · Build the confidence of amateur skaters

 · Acknowledge the energy of skateboard subculture

 · Strengthen local commerce and community ties
